A TRIBUTE TO MY MOTHER
May 13 1911 - Feb 27 2006
A quick glance at a few moments in her life
Cathie Wood was born on May 13th 1911
to Julia (Tellis) Jones and Edmund Jones.
in Potchestroom S.Africa.
Married George Richardson June 12 1937
They lived in Luanshya, Zambia, for 27 years
Their children were Frances, George &  Renee
Came to USA in 1964
Settled in Vancouver, BC in 1966
Was widowed in 1969
Married Jack Wood in 1983 till
he too passed on in 1987
Her First Grandchild was born in 1959
As of May 2005 She now has a total of 12 Grandchildren
27 Great Grandchildren
and 3 Great Great Grandchildren
She suffered a major stroke shortly after her 82nd. Birthday
leaving her paralized on her right side,
and spent the last 12+ years in an extended care facility.
She was diagnosed as having major Diabetes in 1999
and diagnosed with Cancer in 2000
She passed over peacefully in her sleep at 7pm Monday Feb. 27 2006
She would have been 95 on her next birthday.
Dearly beloved by her family and all who knew her
She will be sadly missed.

Thank You For The Memories

I have wonderful memories
with you in my life.
The smiles and adventures
That have brought both maturity and delight.

I can still remember
Those Stanley Park chips.
I had not a clue
You meant the ones with the fish.

How about the time
That we shared together
Those intense moments
That included miles and weather.

Remember my Honda car
Especially during the winter months?
We decided to drive back to Canada
In the freeway snow packed ruts?

We wanted this adventure
We were far more excited than scared
Armed with our studded tires we went
With a confident and jubilant air.

And yes without a doubt in our minds
We surely did make it
Feeling like the great explorers we were
We felt absolutely and thoroughly elated.

Oh, Nana, thank you
For all the memories and all the fun
I have loved reminiscing
And enjoyed each one.

Nana, I love you and
This May 13th, I celebrate you
Happy Birthday dear Nana
Happy 90th to you !
